Earth Day Tree Planting

In honor of Earth Day, a group of volunteers planted a cluster of trees at Susquehanna Union Green.

The project was planned and executed in partnership with the Rotary Club of Susquehanna Township and Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania.

The Rotarians provided the tools and trees, while Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts from Troops 12300 and 14101 dug and planted three dogwood trees. The volunteers worked in teams, and each team gave their tree a name. Pictured above is Gertrude, a red dogwood.
