The Greens
With over 19 acres of greens—one-third of the overall site—Susquehanna Union Green expresses the values of our community and sets the stage for exceptional outdoor experiences.
In 2022 Susquehanna Union Green received an award from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP). This award provides financial assistance with construction of the public parks and greens making up the heart of the master plan.
Central Green
At the heart of Susquehanna Union Green is the Central Green. The Central Green will be the scene of lively community activity and programming, such as outdoor movies, yoga on the lawn, food truck festivals, and a pop-up winter village with an ice skating rink.
Construction of the Central Green was completed in Fall 2024 and will soon open to the public.
Gravel Mews
Woven through the Commercial Core is a pedestrian promenade named Gravel Mews, activating storefronts and transfiguring it into a cohesive indoor/outdoor experience.
The build-out of Gravel Mews is now underway and projected to be completed in Q4 of 2024.
Union Green
Union Green is an expansive, passive recreation space which forms a natural amphitheater and doubly serves to protect ecologically sensitive areas.
Black Run Restoration
Susquehanna Union Green plays an important role in environmental stewardship. The project successfully restored Black Run, a tributary of Paxton Creek which traverses the property. This restoration work yields major environmental benefits for the entire watershed, and it is a community asset for recreation and environmental education as a case study in best practices.
